Joseph Robinson

Joe lives in Wexford.

He studed art in England at Maidstone School of Art, in New Zealand with Trevor Moffitt and in Melbourne School of Art.

His art and sculpture commissions include Bank of Ireland, Wexford, Hotel Rosslare, Seamus Healey, Carrick on Suir, Peter St. Wexford. His paintings are in private collections in Wexford, Belfast, Washington D.C. Australia, Canada and Spain.

Joe’s paintings set out to vividly and simply express the feelings of ordinary people in everyday situations, such as at work and at play and have attracted much interest for their bold linearity and shapes of pure colour.

He mainly works in oil or acrylics. The oils are strong and powerful and the acrylics are more subtle in texture.

Joe’s style is still evident in the intimate studies of nudes in his Desnudas series of quiet Indian Ink drawings which are both subtle and elegant.

Joe has just released two giclee prints of his paintings - The Art Class and The Sleepers - both these are available in the gallery.
